Jiangning District of Nanjing has the reputation of "Six Mountains, One Water and Three Plains" since ancient times. The project is located on the lakeside of Baijiahu Lake, with a superior geographical position. The hotel is a high-end building with prosperity and tranquility.


In terms of the appearance, "L"-shaped layout is applied to the project, which is simple and generous, and it also prefabricates smooth moving lines for internal space planning. The facade has multiple levels and rich details. The entire building is wrapped in a bright and transparent glass facade, which is concave and convex, matched with unique strip lights, which strengthens the dynamic connection between all details and gives people a brilliant visual experience!



As a professional facade consultant of the project, FORCITIS intervened in the project from the beginning of design, and cooperated with architects to finish the complete facade design. The facade of the project is mainly composed of 11 facade systems, such as glass facade, stone facade, grille and canopy, among which 4 complex facade systems have been repeatedly demonstrated by the project team and differentiated design was adopted, which finally restored the architectural effect with high standards and won recognition from owners and designers.


01 Structure - Glass flank


To achieve better landing effect, the glass flank of the project should be the 8 +1.52 pvb+8 toughened & laminated colored glazed glass. As an exterior decorative line, the factors such as structural safety and convenient installation should be considered in the design. Glass, as a fragile material, also needs to ensure that it does not fall and is easy to be replaced after being broken.


To solve this problem, the traditional method is to extend the steel connector at the vertical seam position of the facade plate and fix the glass flank through the steel connector. However, due to the opacity of the connector, it is easy to destroy the transparent and crystal texture of the glass, resulting in obvious fracture changes after light projection, and the decorative effect is not good during the day and night, which affects the final effect. Thus, after many considerations and comparison of different designs, the project team finally chose to extend the glass flank into the facade system, fix the sleeve bolts on the glass flank, and connect the aluminum profiles to open sliding notches, which perfectly solved many problems such as installation reliability and convenience of disassembly and replacement of the glass flank.






02 Facing difficulty - Sunshade line


During the design process of the project, the architect proposed to require the effect of super-large sunshade lines. However, according to previous experience, this kind of line has high cost, and it often encounters obvious shaking problem after landing, which will also affect the safety and water tightness of To solve this problem, t. However, in actual service, it was found that the lamps were prone to failure and the durability was difficult to be guaranteed.


However, as an important display surface of the hotel, any flaw in the entrance canopy will affect the perception of the whole project. Through gradual scrutiny by the project team, the root causes of the lighting durability problem was found as follows: As the overall external temperature is high in summer and the entrance faces south, the internal temperature of the canopy with closed design will be as high as 60 ~ 80℃, which is unbearable for conventional components. At this point, if ventilation structures similar to louvers and perforated plates are set on the side of the canopy by conventional methods, it is difficult to take into account factors such as dust accumulation and waterproofing. Through many rounds of communication and coordination with lighting professionals, the high-temperature resistant lamps and pipelines are finally selected, and the voltage converter is set indoors to completely solve a series of worries.
